I also have a need to convert WMV captures (from web streams) into something that Pinnacle Studio 9.3.5 can edit I've seen a few different shareware things, but they don't work, and I don't know if it's because of the particular WMV's or the software itself.WinTV v8.5: A TV application for Windows 7 and 8 from Hauppauge Freeware's fine, shareware preferably if it's dirt cheap. I'd prefer not to have to buy any more software, in the hope that what I've got already will do the job with the right tweaks. I need a solution which will let me capture on schedule with the Hauppauge WinTV PCI card, in a format that Pinnacle Studio 9.3.5 will be happy to edit. And for those, it just says 'could not be opened,' with no explanatory second sentence. * I can capture with the WinTV Scheduler that Hauppauge has for download at but it also makes MPG's that Studio won't open. Studio does not support this progressive scan (non-interlaced) MPEG2 video file format.'
